Delight

Hello there. Hope you are well. Remembering you in prayer. One of my favourite verses in the Bible is, 'Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.' Psalm 37 verse 4. God does help those who delight to do His will. Sometimes His ways are difficult for us, because we always want our own way, even if it's bad for us. If we follow God's way, life becomes clearer and happier.

Rest

Hello there. Praying for you. Do you often overdo things? Sometimes I do. Resting is good for you. Often in the Bible God tells you to rest in the Lord. Jesus left the crowds and went away by himself to pray and rest. If God tells us to rest it is for our own good. God rested and made one day special. So should we.

Lonely?

Hello everyone. Praying for you. Are you feeling lonely? The best way to overcome loneliness is to consider others. To have friends you have to be a friend. Jesus is your best friend and is always with you. However, sometimes we like a friend with skin on. Pray about it or talk to someone. It is a sure cure for lonliness. Volunteer to do something. Then you will then make lots of friends. You can do it.

SURPRISES

Hello everyone. Praying for you. Do you like surprises? I tend not to like them. But God tells us to be prepared to leave what you intended to do and embrace these unexpected events as special gift. I like being organised, but when the unexpected things occur life is enriched. Don't be afraid to be adventurous. Take interuptions as a gift to you. If you do, you will be surprised at how much you will enjoy them.

Hello everyone. Remembering you in prayer. What are you passionate about? Today's sermon at worship was about being on fire, not literally, or being passionate about life. Did you know that God is passionate about you? God made you and loves you. He wants the best in life for you. But you have to trust God and put yourself in His hands. I hope you realise how important you are to God. The Creator of the Universe loves you. Think about it and call on Him, any time of the day or night. God is the Great Physician, the Prince of Peace and He loves you.

GIDEONS

Hello everyone. Remembering you in prayer. Have you heard of the Gideons? They place bibles in the traffic lanes of life. They give scriptures to school children, place Bibles in hotels, hospitals, planes, hostels, ships etc. I have been a member for 33 years. Gideon was a small person who was a member of the smallest tribe. Yet God chose Gideon and only 300 men to defeat a mighty army. You can read about it in the old testament, Judges Chapters 6 and 7. The Gideon movement started in USA in 1899 by only 3 men. Today we operate in 182 countries in the world. Millions of scriptures are given away free annually.
I am going to a Rally this afternoon. A Gideon from Fife went (Paid his own way) to Argentina to help Ar gentian Gideons give away many scriptures. God can do the impossible. You only have to trust Him.

Temper, Temper

Hello everyone. Praying for you. I hope you are having a good day. Do you often feel like losing your temper? It's not really good for you physically and emotionally. In the Bible it talks about self control (Galatians 5). Jesus also said to do unto others, what you would like them do to you. We all make mistakes. When something goes wrong, 'Praise God for it'. It does work.

FAMOUS

Hello there, I hope you are well today. Remembering you in prayer. Did you know that you were famous? Well you are. In Psalm 139 God tells you that He knew you before you were born. The most important being in the Universe knows you and loves you. That's how important you are. In verse 3 it says that, 'You are familiar with all my ways'. It also mentions that God knows our thoughts. Try to read the Psalm. I met a 91 year old lady today who knows she is famous.

PATIENCE

Hello everyone. How are you today? Remembering you in prayer. Are you patient? This is one of my greatest failings. If someone promises to call about something important, I do get annoyed if they don't call. I am referring to tradesmen. When I telephone them to remind them, I have to remind myself to control my temper. In the New Testament, Galatians Chapter 5 verses 22-23, Paul speaks of the about how God wants us to act. We should be full of 'Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.' How do you rate? It would be a wonderful world if we all behaved in such a fabulous way.

FORGIVENESS

Hello everyone. How your day has been good so far? Remembering you in prayer. Today, due to the incompetence of Scottish Power, we have been out of our church building for three weeks. It is unbelievable. We met in our Church Centre. For me, personally, it was good. I saw many people I wanted to see and there was a warm and cosy atmosphere. However, it was hard for those on Youth Church duty. Many people also turned away and went home, when they saw that the church was unavailable.
God has however, told us we have to forgive others as God has forgiven us. I praised God that we were in our Church Centre. Good will triumph over evil. The event has taught me many things.
I firmly believe in Paul's letter to the Romans, Chapter 8 verse 28, in the New Testament, 'We know that in all things God works for good with those who love Him.'

HAPPINESS

Hello everyone. Do you believe that giving to and sharing with others brings true happiness? I do. As a Christian I follow Jesus Christ and He even gave His life for us so that we could be reunited one day with Almighty God. Human beings were made to worship and love God. We sinned and separated ourselves from God. Only by the death of Jesus could man be reconciled to God. True, lasting happiness comes from putting Jesus first in your life, others next and yourself last. It spells JOY. Try it.
I have had a good day today. Not every day is full of good things. I try to Praise God for the bad. Praise acts like a spiritual injection. It can change your attitude in a mighty way. Try it. I am remembering you in prayers. Even if you live to be 100, life is brief. It is never too soon to prepare for eternity.
